About The Position

The Night Shift Pharmacist works under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Pharmacy, fulfilling all legal requirements related to the evaluation, selection, procurement, and distribution of drugs. This role includes counseling and professional consultation, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as the policies of Houston Healthcare. The pharmacist interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders, compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care, and supervises technicians on duty during the shift. Additionally, the pharmacist participates in Clinical and Quality Improvement programs established by the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Doctorate degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Previous hospital/retail pharmacy experience.
• Current licensure by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
• AHA/ARC BLS certification required.
• AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification required within 9 months of hire.
• Must complete and maintain required stroke education/training as mandated.
