About The Position

To scale our current impact, ASU Prep is advancing a major expansion program taking fundamental responsibility for the communities we serve. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for the implementation of the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) targeting the needs of the child based on their disability. The Special Education Teacher is making knowledge accessible to all students, developing students cognitive capacity and respect for learning, fostering students’ self-esteem, motivation, and sense of civic responsibility and leadership, ongoing professional growth, development of a variety of teaching and instruction materials and strategies, planning for instructional assistants and parental volunteers in classroom management, implementing school policies, communication with parents about students’ academic as well as discipline issues.
