Teachers at Ooltewah Middle can expect a supportive and collaborative climate, including the following supports: New Teacher Academy led by our instructional coach, which meets monthly to discuss ideas and solutions Mentor teacher for new teachers Every teacher is a member of a grade level team, and each core teacher has a content partner that meets for collaborative planning weekly. Instructional Coach who provides job-embedded professional development Ooltewah Middle School has a strong Fine Arts Program. We believe that students need to have multiple opportunities and outlets to express themselves in different ways. We are looking for teaching candidates who are able to develop strong relationships with a diverse group of students, parents, and staff. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Valid Tennessee teaching license in Mathematics 6-8, 6-12 Mathematics OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
- Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students
- Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
- Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
- Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
