As a Teacher, you will develop rigorous lessons in your specific content area, set ambitious goals with your students, track student growth, build relationships with students and families, and collaborate with co-planners. You will also conduct weekly tutorials, complete supervision duties, and grow professionally in your craft of teaching.
Responsibilities
- Developing rigorous lessons in your specific content area.
- Setting ambitious goals with your students and monitoring their progress.
- Tracking student growth and using data to create student growth plans.
- Building relationships with students and families through regular communication.
- Creating a conducive classroom environment for learning.
- Collaborating with co-planners on daily lesson plans.
- Meeting deadlines for lesson plans, grades, and work samples.
- Working with a team of teachers and leaders for student support.
- Conducting weekly tutorials for additional instruction.
- Completing supervision duties on campus.
- Growing professionally by receiving and giving feedback.
- Persisting in the face of challenges and setting a strong example for students.
- Being available for communication with campus leaders, collaborators, students, and parents.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Texas Educator Certification, or willingness to join ACP to get certified.
- Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology.
- Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms.
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools.
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
