Rivermont Elementary is a PreK-5 school located in Chattanooga, TN. We are an inclusive, positive and engaging community that supports achievement, growth and independence by motivating students and staff to purposefully explore academic interests and passions in an environment in which all are valued and respected. All students have the opportunity to explore STEAM ideas and problem-based learning in an engaging environment. This curriculum allows for integration across content areas. Our open-enrollment promotes our diversity as well as parent involvement. We are a small school with a community feeling. Parents, community, teachers and staff work together to provide a safe, productive and engaging learning community where we build readers, writers and thinkers. Requirements

• Hold a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification in Elementary Education (K-5) or be an upcoming graduate in an accredited teacher preparation program.
• Hold a bachelor's degree.
• Committed to inspiring and engaging students.
• Committed to high academic achievement and high expectations for all students.
• Able to be a positive team-player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families.
• Open to being coached and receiving feedback in order to advance learning and growth for students.
• Experienced in high-need or Title-I School settings.
• Experience with English Language Learners is a plus.
• Professionals with high personal standards and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess effective instruction that is tightly aligned with State standards.
• Design lessons based on best practices with clear learning targets and measurable goals aligned with State standards and/or unit outcomes.
• Frequently plan collaboratively with colleagues.
• Convey high expectations while using multiple effective strategies, materials, and classroom practices that involve and motivate students while differentiating instruction to meet students' needs.
• Use colleagues and own self-reflection on instructional practice to continually improve instruction.
• Foster a well-structured and engaging learning environment by utilizing effective classroom procedures and routines while showing caring, respect, and fairness for all students.
• Develop strong relationships with students' families while diligently informing parents of expectations, positive news, and/or concerns about their children.
• Provide opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's learning.
• Actively seek out opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders in order to improve teaching & learning.
• Reflect on own instruction and leadership while contributing ideas, expertise, and time to the mission and goals of the school.
