About The Position

We are looking for a passionate and engaging Middle School Science Teacher to join our KIPP St. Louis Team. As a Science Teacher, you're an enthusiastic educator engaging in students' innate curiosity. You're a passionate scientist who wants to help students learn to explore and experiment. As a teacher at KIPP you are there to engage with the MySci curriculum and to adapt it to what your individual students need. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related content area (REQUIRED)
• Valid Missouri Teacher Certification or Missouri Substitute Certification or willingness to become certified ASAP (REQUIRED)
• Experience teaching or working with the youth
• Pass Criminal Background Check
• Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap

Responsibilities

• Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
• Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
• Use data to inform instructional decisions
• Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs
• Embody and maintain school's values, policies, and culture
• Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
• Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
• Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students
• Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more
• Pursue challenging professional goals each year
• Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleagues
• Participate in school-wide and individual professional development
