About The Position

Working in either KIPP Inspire or KIPP Triumph Academy, you're an enthusiastic educator stoking the academic interests of students. You love reading and writing and want to engage students to a lifelong love of reading. You're excited to use our innovative Wit and Wisdom curriculum to discover the passions students have and ensure they feel confident in writing and reading every day! As an English teacher, you aim to teach your students the power of their voice through English. Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, 10 months Start Date: Immediate Opening

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education or related content area (REQUIRED)
Valid Missouri Teacher Certification or Missouri Substitute Certification or willingness to become certified ASAP (REQUIRED)
Pass Criminal Background Check
Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap

Responsibilities

Adapt and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
Use data to inform instructional decisions
Provide students with daily feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs
Embody and maintain school's values, policies, and culture
Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
Establish and maintain strong communication with all parents and share progress
Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 30 students
Show up for critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more
Pursue challenging professional goals each year
Give and receive positive and constructive feedback from your colleagues
Participate in school-wide and individual professional development
Operate a computer and office equipment on a daily basis
Occasional moderate lifting, pushing and pulling
Maintain emotional control under stress
Interpret policy, procedures and data
Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
