About The Position
Our Lady of Lourdes Interparish School (OLLIS) in Columbia is seeking a dedicated, full-time 5th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. OLLIS is a thriving K–8 Catholic school serving approximately 635 students and is committed to academic excellence and the formation of each child in a Christ-centered community. We are seeking an educator who is passionate about literacy instruction, skilled in building strong student relationships, and committed to helping students grow as confident readers, writers, speakers, and critical thinkers. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong instructional practice in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, and fosters a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, effort, and joy in learning. The 5th Grade ELA Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging ELA instruction aligned to diocesan and school expectations, assessing student growth in literacy skills, differentiating instruction to meet varied learning needs, and collaborating with grade-level colleagues to support student success. The teacher also communicates regularly with families and supports a positive classroom environment grounded in faith, respect, and high expectations.
Requirements
- Applicants should hold the appropriate Missouri teaching certification, or its equivalent.
