About The Position

NorthPointe Christian Schools is an independent Christian school formed in 1972 serving over 1,300 preschool through high school students from over 120 churches. NPC's pairs academic excellence with a strong, Christ-centered environment to reach our mission of "equipping students to impact their world for Jesus Christ." This is part-time position teaching 5th/6th grade in our Hybrid Program for the 2026-2027 school year. Teaching on Tuesday and Thursday school days, 7:30am-3:30pm Providing lessons for homeschool days on Monday and Wednesday The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The work environment is a standard classroom, cafeteria, gymnasium, and/or outdoor setting. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. Consideration for exceptional circumstances and qualifications can be made. Applications will be accepted through April 30. Interviews will be held mid-May.

Requirements

  • Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign the NorthPointe Christian School’s Foundational statements.
  • Valid Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, minimum.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
  • Successfully work with a variety of students, individually and in small groups.
  • Be equipped for a 1:1 MacBook system, well-versed in differentiated instruction and project-based learning.
  • Adapt to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency.
  • Exhibit the verbal ability to understand the meaning of words, the ideas associated with them, and the ability to convey them to others clearly using oral expression and comprehension.
  • Frequently stand and sit for extended periods.
  • Frequently use manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects, operate equipment, and move around the classroom.
  • On occasion, engage with students while kneeling, squatting, stooping, or bending 50-70 degrees at the waist.
  • Exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Perform daily repetitive movement of fingers and hands when writing and typing.
  • Read printed and electronic material daily.
  • See with clarity objects using close, distant, and peripheral vision.
  • Sufficiently hear conversations in person and distinguish sounds clearly up to 20 feet.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching on Tuesday and Thursday school days, 7:30am-3:30pm
  • Providing lessons for homeschool days on Monday and Wednesday
  • Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans.
  • Maintain the continuous safety of the students and respond quickly and appropriately to any threat to their well-being.
