About The Position

The Maintenance Worker I is responsible for performing general inside and outside building and grounds maintenance activities to include but is not limited to: clean, sweep, wax, paint, perform carpentry and building repair duties; mow, trim trees, dig ditches and trenches; clean and sweep parking lots and surrounding areas. Perform manual labor involved in park and trail maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED, or sufficient education to read and write.
  • Six months of work related experience preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Operates hand and power tools such as trimmers, vacuum sweepers, outdoor handheld power equipment and mowers.
  • Maintains green areas by mowing, weeding, landscaping, and trimming vegetation.
  • Maintains buildings and structures following direction from the supervisor and/or manager.
  • Maintains facilities, tools, and equipment for preventative maintenance, proper function, and cleanliness.
  • Maintains facilities, gutters, roofs, parks, and trails free of trash and debris.
  • Daily inspects facilities, vehicles, equipment, and tools thoroughly; reporting mechanical defects and needed repairs to supervisor or on written reports.
  • Reports hazardous, dangerous, or unsafe conditions immediately and completes necessary written reports.
  • Successfully works well in groups and is a good team player.
  • Performs other related tasks and work in emergency situations, as necessary.
