About The Position

PSEG is seeking an Intern for the IT Utility Operations Technology team within Information Technology. This role involves supporting the CMMS PI system on data governance and smart grid technology initiatives, utilizing knowledge of information technology and engineering practices acquired through coursework and training. The position is hybrid, requiring a combination of remote work and in-person attendance as business needs arise.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, IT, or Business Administration from an accredited institution, graduating between December 2025 and May 2028.
• Completed freshman level coursework for consideration.

Nice To Haves

• 3.0 GPA or higher, majoring in Engineering (Any Discipline), IT (Computer Science, Business Information Systems), or Business Administration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Visio, and SQL.
• Optional experience with PowerBI or data visualization tools.
• Self-starter with the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Collect, summarize, and analyze various operational and non-operational PI data for electric inside and outside plant assets.
• Create thousands of data points (PI tags), maintain large sets of data, and modify points.
• Responsible for PI data management which includes administration, maintenance, testing, and reporting.
• Must be detail-oriented and have experience working with large data sets.
