About The Position

PSEG is seeking an Intern for the IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Governance Team. This hybrid position involves working as an IT Disaster Recovery Analyst, where the intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and track the Business Impact Analysis process, assist in creating and maintaining disaster recovery plans, and evaluate project objectives. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in disaster recovery and project management within a Fortune 500 company.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or a related area, graduating between December 2025 and May 2028.
  • Completion of freshman level coursework for consideration.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with computer mapping applications, databases, MS Excel, Pivot tables, Power BI, and general knowledge of computer hardware and software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, project, and support teams across IT.
  • Manage and track the Business Impact Analysis process for IT.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining disaster recovery (DR) plans for critical business systems.
  • Develop and test DR scenarios, ensuring readiness.
  • Evaluate and update DR plans based on technological changes and business needs.
  • Evaluate project objectives and scope for feasibility, scheduling, risks, etc.
  • Use data and metrics to identify areas of improvement in disaster recovery best practices, methodologies, and industry standards.
  • Update DR Training materials.
  • Update and organize the DR SharePoint Site to be more user-friendly.
