The Jr. Alarm System Technician performs a variety of security systems installation, maintenance, modification, and repair work. This includes repairing access control, CCTV, electronic devices, and alarm systems, as well as testing security systems hardware using special testing equipment. The technician is responsible for correcting malfunctions to restore equipment to established standards, making emergency repairs, and installing and relocating security systems equipment. The role also involves maintaining records of installed equipment, operating power tools, and performing physical inventories of security systems equipment. The technician must distinguish colors to identify color-coded cables and electronic components, move electronic equipment weighing up to 70 pounds, and clean security systems equipment and work areas. Regular attendance and the ability to work all scheduled hours, including overtime, are required, along with a willingness to work rotating on-call shifts.
