About The Position

Manage and supervise the planning, lay‐out, material storage, maintenance, and inspections of concrete finishing in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of the foremen and crewmen under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently. Supervise other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.

Requirements

  • Experience working as a journeyman and supervisor Carpenter, Cement Finisher, Reinforced Ironworker or similar craft.
  • Strong working knowledge of civil / concrete crafts.
  • Experience in erection of all types of concrete structures.
  • Working knowledge of auto‐level and transit for accurate lay‐out.
  • Ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all the principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers under supervision.
  • Lead and support all safety related processes and programs.
  • Engage with the work team to ensure zero injuries.
  • Monitor scheduling, material control and unit man‐hour performance reporting.
  • Create and execute a one week schedule.
  • Set and execute crew goals based on project unit rates.
  • Review crew's timecards for correct hours and phase coding.
  • Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor.
  • Lead, complete, and sign off on daily pre‐job safety planning.
  • Identify safety hazards and take corrective action.
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Provide on‐the‐job training to individuals under supervision.
  • Conduct tool box meetings and communicate safety concerns.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems.
