Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to serve as a Program Educator for the 4-H UNITY Afterschool Program. This role involves overseeing the implementation of engaging and culturally responsive in-school and afterschool activities for youth, as well as supporting educational programs to support families in our community. This position will be responsible to coordinate and implement the 4-H UNITY Program located in Union-Endicott School District, creating a positive and inclusive environment for youth. This position is expected to build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, schools, and families to enhance program visibility and participation. This position will work closely with 4-H UNITY Program Director, UNITY Program Coordinator and staff with reporting and evaluation of each program. The hourly rate for this position is $21.00. POSITION INFORMATION: Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and one year of transferrable program/functional experience). Experience relevant to the role of the position. Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in direct youth development working with at-risk youth, families and/or adults. In-depth knowledge of Broome County programs and human services. Demonstrated ability to implement, organize, plan, teach and evaluate informal educational programs through a variety of delivery methods to reach individuals and groups. Demonstrated ability to function as a team member working with volunteers and staff. Demonstrated ability to organize reference materials for programming purposes. Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to utilize program resources within the community. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual means. Demonstrated ability to utilize computer technologies for educational and communication purposes.
