About The Position

The 4-H Summer Camp Track Instructor for Archery at Louisiana State University is responsible for leading archery and outdoor skills instruction for youth in grades 4-6 at the Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center. This part-time position involves preparing lesson plans, maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and providing a supportive educational environment for campers. The instructor will work closely with other camp staff and report directly to the 4-H Program Coordinator.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, social or behavioral sciences, or a related field.
• 4-H Shooting Sports Archery Instructor Level 1 Certification.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Experience in teaching archery to youth.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with youth in outdoor settings.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead instructor for archery and outdoor skills for youth grades 4-6.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans for three 50-minute rotations, including rainy day instruction.
• Maintain and secure archery equipment, including bows, arrows, and targets.
• Conduct daily safety checks of the archery area and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety and educational procedures among staff and campers.
• Collaborate with other camp staff before and after track time each day.
