About The Position

The Wire Winder Operator is responsible for operating the wire wind machines and running the necessary wire required by braid machines. This position reports directly to the Value Stream Team Leader and involves close collaboration with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues.

• Production work preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct spot check of wire in the market and at the machines.
• Order necessary wire by communicating with material handler using the Raw Material Requisition.
• Gauge wire randomly utilizing a thickness gauge.
• Understand how to correctly set meter footage, traverse, and check beak size.
• Use a hoist in a correct and safe manner to move spools of wire.
• Monitor and run wire winding machines.
• Identify and eliminate known defects.
• Prepare and complete necessary paperwork.
