Requirements

  • Successful completion of an internal welding test and the ability to achieve certification.
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Good math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Able to bend, reach, push, pull, and put parts into positions for welding.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs from a floor or bench level to a welding table or fixture.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques such as MIG welding.
  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings including weld requirement symbols.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
  • Use conventional and precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct process inspection, certification, and documentation.
  • Perform welding equipment maintenance.
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Adhere to safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
