About The Position

The Warehouse Floor Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing a team of material handlers in both the freezer and dry goods warehouses. This role is crucial in ensuring materials are efficiently received, organized, staged, and delivered to support production and shipping schedules. In addition to supervising daily warehouse operations and maintaining inventory accuracy, the Warehouse Floor Supervisor will assist with training, process improvements, and cross-departmental coordination. They will work closely with the Operations Manager, Inventory Control, and Production teams to ensure the timely flow of materials and adherence to food safety and workplace safety standards. Success in this role requires a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead by example, in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. The ideal candidate is a reliable, team-oriented leader with a strong work ethic, a track record of warehouse experience, and a focus on maintaining safety and efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent logistics-related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience overseeing logistics functions in a high-volume, multi-shift, warehouse environment.
  • 5+ years of experience managing warehouse teams and operations, including use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • 5+ years of experience implementing warehouse procedures and driving operational improvements.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and scissor lifts; certified or able to obtain necessary licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Material Handler Freezer and Dry Goods teams, ensuring safe operations, effective labor planning, KPI achievement, and overall shift execution.
  • Lead with a hands-on approach, providing clear direction to Material Handler Leads and team members through daily huddles and consistent floor presence.
  • Plan and adjust daily priorities based on workload, volume, and business needs.
  • Oversee staffing functions including training, scheduling, and assigning responsibilities.
  • Monitor performance, communicate expectations, manage labor costs, and recognize team contributions.
  • Support a positive and productive work environment through consistent coaching, accountability, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct regular performance touchpoints including monthly 1:1s, quarterly reviews, and team meetings to drive accountability and development.
  • Observe team performance to ensure compliance with procedures and department standards.
  • Lead onboarding for new team members and facilitate OIF refresher training; ensure documentation is current and the team remains 100% audit ready.
  • Foster open communication to strengthen understanding of roles, expectations, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Promote a culture of growth through timely feedback, coaching, and recognition.
  • Drive achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through focused team performance and goal alignment.
  • Use data and metrics to guide decisions, address inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the accurate and timely handling of materials to support production and shipping needs.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by providing operational insights and implementing improvement plans that support productivity, quality, and service standards.
  • Ensure completion of key operational tasks, including shift reporting, sample requests, and inbound documentation.
  • Oversee material handling procedures, inventory accuracy, physical inventory, cycle counts, and OSD claim resolution.
  • Lead incident reporting efforts and communicate changes affecting quality or workflow.
  • Collaborate with leaders and other stakeholders across departments to achieve shared operational goals.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager during GEMBA walks to identify and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Apply structured root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D to resolve recurring issues and prevent future disruptions.
