The 3rd Shift Setup/Process Technician is responsible for the installation and setup of injection molds into molding machines, ensuring that all necessary equipment is staged for production jobs. This role involves performing process startups, operating molding machines, and maintaining quality standards throughout the production process.

  • Operate and set-up all molding machines, secondary equipment, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Read and interpret process set-up sheets.
  • Manipulate machine controls to achieve desired parameters as detailed on the process set-up sheets.
  • Install molds in molding machines while observing all safety protocols.
  • Stage and set-up secondary equipment including hot stampers, ultra-sonic welders, pressing machines, and heat transfer machines.
  • Diagnose root causes of problems and implement appropriate fixes.
  • Communicate non-productive processes to the shift supervisor and ensure productive cycle times.
  • Understand job quality requirements for all production parts.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the press and surrounding area during and after each set-up.
  • Complete necessary documentation such as molding process sheets and production reports.
  • Enter data into IQMS for operator and production counts.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in injection molding setups/processing.
  • Apprenticeship and/or specialized training is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical abilities to handle injection molds and install them in molding machines.
  • Understanding of cause and effect relationships between process conditions.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and clearly follow oral instructions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Reliable and dependable.
