About The Position

The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. The list of duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prefer (but not required) six months related job experience
  • Experience with office computer software required, including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite software packages such as: Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Effective analytical skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to be detail-oriented
  • Ability to operate a variety of standard business machines such as: computer, keyboard, calculator, fax, and photocopier
  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, percentages, and proportions to practical situations
  • Basic knowledge of statistics
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Responsibilities

  • Completion and tracking of all capability studies, including statistical analysis
  • Completion and tracking of all material testing (MITR)
  • Perform tube lay-out analysis (TLA)
  • Perform special investigations
  • Perform receiving quality audits (RQA)
  • Assist with projects as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor
  • Assist manufacturing with the interpretation of quality standards
  • Continuous improvement projects as assigned by Department Supervisor and/or Department Manager
  • Ra testing product/raw material
  • Rockwell testing product/raw material
  • Perform PPAP/ISIR studies
  • Perform daily repair and calibration of all gauging within the facility
  • Filing and recordkeeping for the laboratory
  • Perform GR&R for all families of inspection, measuring and test equipment
  • Address daily quality issues related to manufacturing for both facilities
  • Maintain sample catalog/cabinet
  • General lab housekeeping
  • Daily recording of quality results of order verification checks during production runs (all mills)
  • Provide technical service and support to all departments as needed
