About The Position

Join our team in Urbana, where you’ll play a critical role in keeping operations running efficiently by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems. This position requires a well-rounded industrial maintenance professional with strong capabilities in mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, welding, and overall general industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience (Skilled Trades program, military technical background, etc.).
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Must be well-rounded in:
  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Welding (MIG and TIG)
  • General industrial maintenance
  • Strong ability to diagnose root causes of mechanical and electrical failures and perform reliable repairs independently.
  • Experience working with 480V 3-phase systems, motors, controls, PLCs, and VFDs.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, meters, and mechanical service tools.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and support operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Install, disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and mechanical drives.
  • Perform advanced mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose equipment failures and implement effective, long-term repairs.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting on motors, relays, switches, starters, fuses, and 480V 3-phase systems.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, and power transmission systems.
  • Execute MIG and TIG welding, including stainless steel and structural steel fabrication and repair.
  • Perform manual fabrication and equipment modifications as needed to support operations.
  • Follow blueprints, manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately complete repairs.
  • Adjust, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and increase equipment reliability.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, ISO, and company safety standards.
  • Document maintenance activities in CMMS and communicate critical updates to leadership.
  • Maintain 5S standards and ensure a safe, organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
