About The Position

Operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal work pieces.

Requirements

• At least 1 year experience as a CNC machine operator or a Basic Machining/CNC Fundamentals Certificate in Applied Science.
• Able to read and interpret part Blueprints.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance is desired.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods is also desired.

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years experience as a CNC machine operator.

Responsibilities

• Work with a sense of urgency to complete a job or task.
• Required to have basic measuring equipment (1” mic. 6” Cal. 6” scale)
• Check to ensure that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
• Lift work pieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes.
• Must be able to identify tool wear.
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Maintain precision in process reports, count sheets, and daily machine maintenance reports.
• Work as a team member and communicate well with leaders and co-workers.
• Replace worn or broken tooling with supervision.
• Willing to attend training to improve skills / knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
