About The Position

The position is for a Lead Technician in Sterile Processing Services at High Point Medical Center. This is a full-time role with a schedule from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday. The pay range for this position is between $22.50 and $33.75 per hour. The Lead Technician will be responsible for overseeing the sterile processing cycle, providing guidance to staff, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years' experience in Sterile Processing.
  • Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or other sterile processing certification required.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing Management strongly encouraged within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Expert in all aspects of the sterile processing cycle and ability to provide guidance and education to SPD employees.
  • Assumes role and responsibilities of Sterile Processing Supervisor when assigned.
  • Assists Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintaining department production requirements by leading and directing SPD employees.
  • Assists with case carts management and communicates issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
  • Uses excellent communication skills when discussing instrument needs with Sterile Processing Supervisor, SPD Liaisons, and/or OR Clinical Coordinators.
  • Ensures that all equipment is functioning optimally and reports issues to the Sterile Processing Supervisor and/or the appropriate department.
  • Assists the Sterile Processing Supervisor with maintenance of departmental compliance logs.
  • Assists SPD Manager with implementation and enforcement of departmental policies.
  • Assists with special projects and interdepartmental committees as assigned.
  • Protects self, co-workers and facility by following approved policies and procedures to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne disease(s).
