About The Position

Michelin has an immediate opening for a General Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent, full-time position. Working hours will be 3rd shift 11:00pm to 7:30am. This shift does come with a shift differential of $2.50/hr. The technician will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• Valid Driver License.
• 2-5 years of maintenance experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self-directed, people oriented, flexible, professional, positive attitude.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Working knowledge of powder and wet paint lines & assembly will be very helpful.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts and installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Starts devices to test their performance and lubricates and cleans parts.
• May set up and operate drill press, grinder, welder, torch, plasma cutter and other metalworking tools.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Works and assists outside contractors and vendors as required.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
• Performs PM's as assigned.
• Supports the EMS, QMS & H&S systems.
• Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.
