The JBS Pork team is seeking a 3rd Shift Dock Monitor. Observe and assist transporters and JBS employees to verify that company procedures as well as USDA rules and regulations are being followed with respect to receiving, unloading, and handling hogs throughout the process.

  • Verify that all humane handling SOP's are being carried out including, but limited to: scheduling, unloading, training, and handling of non-ambulatory animals.
  • Hands-on helping with difficult and non-ambulatory hogs both on and off trucks.
  • Monitor/assist in ambulatory and slow hog movement.
  • Perform audits and other tasks.
  • Be able to document deficiencies and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Maintain good communication with USDA/FSIS in matters related to humane handling.
  • Ensure that animals are being properly transported according to JBS and Industry guidelines.
  • Assist in response to emergencies.
  • Perform various other duties as determined by the Livestock Handling Manager.
  • Attend scheduled and called meetings and take clear notes.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to provide leadership/motivation to engage employees in the business.
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office software (word, PowerPoint, excel) skills.
  • Internal applicants must have less than 2 attendance points and no written warnings or suspensions in the last calendar year.
  • Knowledge of our industry is beneficial.
  • Basic math and analytical skills.
  • Good people skills.
  • Self-motivated and work well without direct supervision.
  • Organized.
  • Must be able to work with live hogs and handle them with humane handling guidelines.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Team player.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull large amounts of weight as needed.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) as needed.
  • Bilingual (plus but not required).
  • Computer skills and knowledge.
  • Experience in swine production.
  • Base Salary: $44,012min- $53,474mid.
