The 3rd Party Coordinator (Authorities Having Jurisdiction - AHJs) will oversee and manage the implementation of the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Project (ATMP) at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). This role is essential for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and permits required for the project's execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong project coordination skills and experience working with regulatory agencies and third-party oversight.

  • Act as the main point of contact between LAWA and all relevant authorities having jurisdiction, including local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Coordinate the permitting process, ensuring that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained in a timely manner and that the project complies with all AHJ regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of communications with AHJs, permitting processes, and compliance records.
  • Provide regular status updates to project management teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage scheduling requirements related to AHJ approvals and inspections to minimize project delays.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and ensure the project aligns with updated policies or procedures set forth by AHJs.
  • Coordinate and facilitate inspections and site visits conducted by AHJs, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring compliance.
  • Address and resolve any AHJ-related issues or challenges that may arise, maintaining positive relationships and proactive solutions.
  • Work closely with project teams, contractors, and consultants to align AHJ requirements with project objectives and timelines.
  • Provide guidance to team members and contractors on AHJ requirements and best practices to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and overseeing permitting processes for large infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with AHJs and project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and standards.
  • Skilled in creating and maintaining detailed documentation and reports.
  • In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to airport and infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with construction safety standards and permitting processes.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Certifications related to building codes, safety, or environmental compliance are a plus.
