About The Position

Our Lady of Peace School, located at 40 E. Dominion Blvd in Columbus, is seeking a 3rd Garde Teacher to work with our wonderful lower school faculty in a small, wonderful school. You will be working with a class of no more than 25 students and enjoy the services of a full-time aide working with you in the classroom. This is an ideal position for a teacher with experience who can bring his or her ideas from other schools, or a new teacher who will benefit from a strong core of colleagues. Requirements

• Catholic Required
• Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach
• Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
• Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Appropriate state certification/license: as required by the grade levels and subjects taught
• Religious Education certification as required by the diocese

Responsibilities

• Assist students in mastering the skills and information in the school curriculum
• Helping students to grow in faith and responsibility
• Contribute to the integration of Catholic teachings and virtues throughout the curriculum and school culture as it supports faith formation and student learning.
• Understand student learning, development, and faith formation while respecting the diversity of students.
• Understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate and ensure student learning
• Plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student.
• Create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students.
• Collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators and the faith community to support student development, learning and faith.
• Assume responsibility for their professional academic/spiritual growth, performance, and involvement as an individual and as a member of a Catholic learning community.
