About The Position

Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities. AMS is seeking a passionate, data-driven 3rd Grade Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and build strong foundational literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field OR Valid state teaching certification in a relevant subject area OR Minimum of three (3) years of K–12 teaching experience
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
  • Show commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and a data-driven instructional mindset
  • Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative
  • Arkansas State Background Check
  • Child Maltreatment Central Registry Check
  • Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) required background clearance and fingerprinting

Responsibilities

  • Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks
  • Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional planning and interventions
  • Build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment
  • Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies
  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
  • Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders
  • Contribute to school-wide systems and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
  • Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships
