About The Position

The HERE DataViz team utilizes a variety of cutting-edge technologies, algorithms, and tools to build pipeline services that produce beautiful, aligned, scalable, and customizable 3D representations of our location-based data to enrich and improve our customers' experiences, including our new Premier 3D Cities product. We are a group of talented engineers who delight in applying our extensive experience in video game, 3D modeling, and service-oriented development using native C++ and Python to achieve that vision in concert with a variety of other motivated and energetic teams. Following our company values Learn Fast and Win Together, we collaborate with external partners and other teams within HERE to ensure that our customers always get best of technology and services for their everyday use and to support their business. We correspondingly work with the full stack of the HERE UniMap architecture ranging from the tooling used by the map experts and customers to the content delivery mechanisms implemented on top of the HERE Platform. We are a team with front- and back-end developers, test automation experts, devops and data engineers. We are primarily based in the US and have a good mix of people that can coach new joiners. We are now looking for a 3D Graphics Engineering Intern to join our team and work on our next generation 3D mapping technology. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an energetic and dedicated team and contribute to several large, sophisticated, cloud-based software systems. We serve both business customers and consumers with the energy of a start-up and the stability of an established operation. We care passionately about our customers, our products, and each other. We are interested in candidates with experience and specialization in 3D math and graphics, GIS, mapping, computer vision, visual simulation, big data, AI/ML, and/or LiDAR technology.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate, masters, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems.
• At least 1 year of experience programming in C++.
• Experience with 3D graphics, math, and/or geometry.
• Willing to work in a team-based culture.
• Self-motivated with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize skill sets in C++, Python, 3D graphics, databases, revision control, CI/CD, and service-oriented architectures to advance team objectives.
• Write C++ client code for our suite of Windows, Linux, and web-based 3D internal applications and services.
• Interface with technical product managers and implement requested features.
• Attend daily team scrums, bi-weekly planning sessions, and monthly demos.
