About The Position

ENERCON’s Energy Group is seeking an Electrical Designer to join the team based in one of our various office locations across the U.S. Join our dynamic engineering team as an experienced designer/drafter and elevate your career by creating and refining detailed drawings, conducting site walkdowns, and collaborating closely with engineers. You'll utilize advanced tools, adhere to strict quality and safety standards, and mentor junior team members, all while working on diverse and exciting projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field with a minimum of 3 years of design experience OR Associate's Degree in related field with minimum 6 years of design experience OR minimum of 10 years of experience as a designer
  • Proficient with both 2D and 3D design software AutoCAD and Smart Plant experience is required
  • Working knowledge of basic engineering techniques, principals, standards, and concepts for assigned engineering discipline; competent in the basic concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Electrical Design codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to com pany and client policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with Plant 3D, or Revit

Responsibilities

  • Create and/or modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D.
  • Understand AutoCAD national standards.
  • Display high attention to detail and perform peer checks for other designers
  • Perform walkdowns at client sites and generate walkdown reports.
  • Work directly with Engineering and other designers for design concept interpretation and coordination
  • Conduct self-checks of created models, drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product.
  • May review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership.
  • Communicate internally with engineers and designers and maintain high level of organization
  • Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives
  • Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline
