About The Position

The position involves setting up and operating blanchers to ensure the delivery of products to packing lines. The operator is responsible for monitoring the temperature and salinity of products to ensure they meet specifications outlined in the formula book, making necessary adjustments as required. The role includes communication with the Line Lead Person or Supervisor regarding any shutdowns, completing paperwork accurately, and inspecting both machine and hand pack lines. The operator must also follow safety rules and company policies.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
• Legible handwriting.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates blanchers to deliver product to packing lines.
• Monitors temperature and salinity of products to conform to specifications.
• Makes adjustments as needed.
• Calls in all shut downs to Line Lead Person or Supervisor.
• Completes all paperwork accurately and neatly.
• Inspects machine pack and hand pack lines.
• Washes lines before packing operation or as instructed.
• Inspects product on conveyor feeding packing machine.
• Follows safety rules and company policies.
• Records information on machinery downtime.
• Inspects and removes foreign objects from raw materials on processing line conveyor.
• Checks salometer of storage brine tank with hydrometer.
• Keeps work area clean and tidy.
• Participates in training, employee meetings, and project teams.
• Receives and follows written or verbal instructions from supervisor.
