The position requires candidates to meet specific educational qualifications as outlined by ESSA and NAEYC. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one of the following criteria: an Associate's degree or higher, 48 credit hours from an institution of higher education, or a score of 464 or higher on the ParaPro Test. Additionally, candidates must have 12 college credits in early childhood or elementary education courses or hold a CDA credential from the Council for Professional Recognition. Furthermore, candidates must have completed one of the following: an Associate's degree or higher in early childhood education or related fields, an Associate's degree in another area with 3+ years of experience in a NAEYC-accredited program, or an Associate's degree in another area with 3+ years of experience in a non-NAEYC accredited program along with at least 30 contact hours of relevant training in the past three years.
