About The Position

The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational, merchandising, and managerial functions within the store during their assigned shift. This role includes acting as the manager-on-duty in the absence of the Store Manager, supervising Sales Associates, and driving sales to meet financial goals. The Assistant Manager also plays a key role in enhancing customer experience and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 - 3 years prior retail experience; 1 year prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply retail math principles.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to use a POS system.
  • High level of initiative and accountability.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple initiatives.
  • Detail-oriented and consistently meets deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community engagement and relationship building.
  • Familiarity with social media marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales to achieve and exceed financial plan.
  • Assist Store Manager in evaluating the business and taking proactive steps to improve results.
  • Assist in setting and monitoring store goals (individual, daily, weekly).
  • Manage store expenses and ensure compliance with company policies regarding funds and merchandise handling.
  • Maintain accountability for store operations, associate development, and financial contributions.
  • Schedule and manage grassroots events quarterly.
  • Utilize social media for marketing initiatives and driving traffic to the store.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure the store is properly zoned for optimal selling.
  • Educate customers and Associates on product knowledge and features.
  • Assist in developing staff to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain high standards in store operations and assist in creating the store schedule.
  • Ensure the neatness, maintenance, and cleanliness of the store.
  • Execute merchandise displays and visuals to enhance the brand.
  • Assist in placing supply orders and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Communicate effectively with Store Manager and District Manager on operational issues.
  • Assist in recruiting and training store staff, ensuring career paths and succession planning.
  • Conduct daily communications with Associates to keep them updated on company policies.
