About The Position

The Maintenance General Foreperson is responsible for overseeing the entire plant floor functioning, directing supervisors regarding production volume, quality, cost, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. This role involves training and developing supervisors to provide management depth and foster teamwork to achieve departmental objectives. The foreperson will review daily production schedules to plan work and personnel assignments, monitor machinery and equipment maintenance, and ensure good employee relations while adhering to labor contract provisions. Responsibilities also include prioritizing work orders, performing skilled maintenance activities, and promoting safety in all aspects of maintenance.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• 5 years proven experience in the Beef or Pork industry preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work 50+ hours.
• Good attendance and safety records.
• Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency.
• Ability to monitor and operate refrigeration and steam/boiler areas.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field preferred.
• Previous refrigeration/boiler and related experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department targets and controls, monitoring shift operations and productivity.
• Maximize department efficiency and ensure Daily Production plan targets are met.
• Ensure effective communication at all levels and complete necessary administrative work.
• Resolve problems raised by team members and provide feedback to build confidence and develop skills.
• Ensure compliance with Technical and Quality standards for food safety.
• Liaise with New Product Development for product trials and ensure necessary resources are available.
• Maintain the MRP system for raw material, packaging, and finished goods stocks.
• Monitor material usage and analyze waste and loss control programs.
