3C Medical Unit Stepdown recently received the AACN Beacon Award for Excellence. Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 24 hours per week on the Night Shift (7p-7a) at our Christiana Hospital on this Unit. Weekend and Holidays - per the guidelines of the department. The 3C Medical Stepdown team offers an opportunity to provide care for acutely ill adult patients on a 40-bed stepdown unit. 3C has the unique ability to care for patients that require Intermediate stepdown level of care or Transitional stepdown level of care within the same unit. You will assist in managing a 1:3-4 transitional patient assignment or a 1:4-5 intermediate patient assignment. You will utilize critical thinking and clinical expertise to assess, plan, and deliver individualized care to an adult patient population with a variety of medical diagnoses. As a member of our team, you will work closely with the interdisciplinary team including nursing, social work, pharmacy, respiratory therapist, physical therapists, speech therapists, hospitalists, and consultants such as Pulmonologists, Nephrologists, Cardiologists, and Infectious Disease. We see a range of diagnoses including Respiratory Failure, COPD, Acute Renal Failure, GI Bleed, DKA, Sepsis, and many others. 3C nurses are highly skilled in caring for acutely ill and complex patients, who are proficient in telemetry monitoring, non-ventilator dependent trach collar and High Flow Nasal Cannula management, wound care and more. We deliver holistic patient care that is patient and family centered to ensure patient comfort and positive outcomes by providing education related to medications and disease processes. In addition, you will closely supervise patients and manage any emergencies that may arise. Once stabilized, you will assist with the transition of patients to the appropriate level of care, facility, or home. 3C staff and leadership take pride in our dedication and teamwork to provide safe, quality care to all of our patients.
