About The Position
We at MHealth Fairview are looking for a 2nd Year Student Pharmacist at our St. John's Hospital! The role involves providing clinical care to patients of the pharmacy and assisting the pharmacy manager in the operation and management of the pharmacy. The student pharmacist will provide indirect supervision for support staff and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures. Responsibilities include providing appropriate clinical care including patient counseling and prospective drug use evaluation to all patients receiving their medication therapy from the Pharmacy. The position also entails performing initial patient evaluations as it pertains to prescribed therapies, collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating appropriate data relative to medication therapy, and making recommendations for the modification of drug therapy based on evaluations of disease processes and adverse reactions. The student pharmacist will monitor patient records for potential drug interactions and allergies, provide counseling and answer questions from patients, family, and healthcare professionals concerning drug therapy, and ensure accurate labeling and dispensing of medications in a timely fashion. Additionally, the role includes identifying and resolving patient-specific medication-related problems, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and Fairview Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedures, managing errors and medication safety activities, and participating in team meetings with clinical pharmacy specialists, pharmacy residents, pharmacy students, and technicians. The student pharmacist must demonstrate the ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
