About The Position
Carter Logistics LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Yard Traffic Specialist to join our team at the Tanner, AL location. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our cross-dock facility. The Yard Traffic Specialist will be responsible for communicating and interacting with drivers as they enter and exit our terminal. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure that drivers have all the necessary documents and tools to be successful on their routes. The Yard Traffic Specialist will handle the printing, auditing, scanning, sorting, and dissemination of all required documents, ensuring that each driver is equipped for their journey. In this position, effective communication is key, as the Yard Traffic Specialist will interact with various organizational levels. The role involves managing drivers, enforcing company policies, and ensuring the accuracy of paperwork. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Yard Traffic Specialist must be flexible with shift hours and capable of handling multiple and changing priorities. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires a high degree of independence and teamwork. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for those who have 1-2 years of industry experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required, and knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is a plus. The work environment is primarily office-based within the cross-dock facility, and adherence to proper PPE requirements is mandatory when entering the dock area.
