Cambridge Valley Machining provides comprehensive design through manufacturing services for startups, Fortune 500 businesses, and other domestic and global customers. CVM is a proud supplier within the Space and the Defense industries. Due to business growth, we are seeking to fill the position of 2nd shift (3p-11p) Working Supervisor. The Working Supervisor is responsible to direct and coordinate shift production, processing, and distribution activities to support manufacturing. Run machine(s) as needed to support production efforts. Work with the Operations Manager to review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering machine availability and time constraints. Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems. Train, evaluate, and resolve personnel issues. Coordinate with the HR Manager as needed. Coordinate inventory and associated security programs. Ensure all inventory items are accounted for. Post process, in-process, and raw inventory may be maintained in controlled areas as designated for traceability and security. Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records. Monitor product standards, examining samples of products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality. Coordinate with Quality team as needed. Assist with employee suggestion or involvement programs. Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines. Continuously improve knowledge of the Quality Control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies. Ensure compliance of CVM policies by coordinating with management and HR. Utilize employee handbook as a basis of instruction. Monitor and enforce company Safety procedures. Safety should be at the forefront of all activities. Perform periodic safety inspections. Coordinate with safety advisers and management to correct deficiencies and implement new policies. Monitor and enforce company Security procedures. Perform security inspections. Coordinate with CVM management to correct deficiencies and implement new policies. Security includes, but is not limited to, protecting the personnel, materials, and CVM facility from harm, theft, or damage. Communicate manufacturing data and information both verbally and in writing. Provide reports that address but are not limited to: inventory, safety, quality, production, and security. Support the operation of facility manufacturing and security systems. Inspect and operate necessary equipment to ensure proper use of compressed air, electricity, water, coolant, security, and other systems as necessary. Support TPM and 5S programs. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other duties as assigned.
