About The Position

General Summary Responsible for managing the daily workflow and specific training required for all Distribution associates. Directs assigned personnel and is responsible for performance appraisals, development, corrective counseling, and recruiting. Responsible for continuous supply chain improvement activities in shipping, receiving, inventory management, and supplying materials. Reports to a DC Manager. Member of the DC leadership team. Duties and Responsibilities General Duties Provides leadership to the assigned work team by maintaining a high work standard. Sets the standard for the team, demonstrates commitment and is accountable for results. Prepares and administers performance evaluations, improvement counseling and feedback to the work team. Trains new and existing associates on ISO/Quality, Safety, Skills, SOP’s and Systems and assures compliance. Promotes a team environment where participation, commitment, initiative, flexibility, and performance are valued and demonstrated consistently. Handles problem solving and issues that arise on shift (process, people, etc.). Team member or lead of project teams including inventory projects. Handles internal customer issues in professional manor and coordinates special requests from internal customers (manufacturing, marketing, customer service). Assures that all Distribution Center associates follow established safety rules and housekeeping regulations, ISO, Hazmat, etc. Initiates action to correct mechanical and safety problems with material handling equipment, computers, data entry devices, and facility structures. Participates in budgetary decisions, controls overtime, and proposes capital purchases. Monitors performance to plan. Writes procedures. Coordinate physical inventories. Must be able to develop and maintain department metrics and goals. Support and develop future growth of Group Leaders and Team members and able to perform other duties as assigned in support of business goals. Strong personal computer skills (i.e. word, excel). Effective communication skills at all levels both written and verbal. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks and ability to effectively manage conflict. Ability to work in teams to obtain results, self-motivated/directed, ability to organize and supervise people and activities. Familiar with inventory and warehouse management concepts and systems. Strong math skills. Demonstrated leadership in a team environment including performance appraisals and conflict resolution. Demonstrated training skills. Understanding of ISO/Quality standards is preferred. Dependable and flexible. Working knowledge of SAP preferred.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain Operations.
  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred - BS degree and/or actively enrolled in a degree program.
  • Understanding of ISO/Quality standards is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
