About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing in-plant inspections, sampling, and documentation to ensure that sunflower seed products meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports food safety, production consistency, and traceability by verifying processes and communicating issues in real time.

Requirements

  • Experience in food manufacturing or quality control strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively across departments
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to allergens, noise, and temperature variation

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods on the production floor
  • Collect and prepare product samples for third-party laboratory testing
  • Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) and ensure compliance with HACCP and GMP standards
  • Perform visual checks for foreign material, packaging integrity, labeling accuracy, and allergen control
  • Document inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions in accordance with QA protocols
  • Communicate quality concerns to production and QA leadership promptly
  • Support traceability efforts by maintaining sample retention logs and batch records
  • Assist with internal audits, mock recalls, and third-party inspections
  • Help train production staff on quality and food safety procedures
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE
  • Other duties as assigned
