Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Additional technical training or certifications in industrial equipment operation are highly desirable.
  • Proven proficiency in operating heavy machinery, including forklifts and trackmobiles.
  • Computer literacy is essential, with the ability to efficiently navigate and utilize various software systems.
  • The ability to read, comprehend, and effectively communicate procedures and instructions is crucial.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills, coupled with a keen mechanical aptitude, are important in reducing downtime.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. and performing various physical tasks such as reaching, climbing, and moving on and off industrial equipment.
  • Excellent communication abilities are vital, as is the ability to foster a collaborative environment as a team player.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a focus on continuous learning in the field of industrial mineral production is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Embody the Omya values, fostering a culture of respect, ethical conduct, and persistent improvement.
  • Ensure all machines and systems are primed for packaging to fulfill the daily and weekly operational goals in strict adherence to the Packaging Schedule.
  • Skillfully operate and maintain a diverse array of machinery, including forklifts and trackmobiles.
  • Consistently provide samples to our Lab for rigorous testing of systems and products, upholding the highest quality standards to guarantee customer satisfaction and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Implement corrective actions based on lab data and operational demands, ensuring any quality discrepancies are promptly rectified.
  • Safeguard product integrity at every phase of packaging, loading, and transportation, and proactively resolve any issues with damaged goods.
  • Maintain the utmost level of product purity, preventing contamination during product changes or equipment operation transitions.
  • Conduct thorough shift inspections of equipment and processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Maintain and repair machinery with precision, collaborating effectively with Maintenance teams to swiftly address and resolve complex issues.
  • Ensure all areas, including machinery and equipment, are kept clean and free from debris to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Keep meticulous records of shipments, key parameters and equipment status, ensuring seamless transitions between shifts and informed management decisions.
  • Work proactively with supporting departments to complete tasks and resolve issues, upholding the standard of quality products.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and quality procedures, aiming for a zero lost time injury record and conducting daily inspections of the Warehouse.
  • Safely and effectively load products onto various modes of transportation, including trucks, boxcars, and railcars.
  • Pursue ongoing education to deepen understanding of Warehouse processes and best practices.
  • Exhibit the adaptability and preparedness to seamlessly transition into the Lead Operator role when required.
  • Promptly report any accidents, safety violations, or incidents to the area supervisor and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Be willing to work overtime and accept call-ins as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a team-oriented mindset.

Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $24 - $28 per hour +$1 Shift Differential per hour.
  • Full-time position with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as required by production schedules.
