About The Position

The Maintenance Tool and Die Tech role is responsible for making, repairing, and diagnosing dies, punches, and other tooling/parts. Work with team to assess priorities and execute work to support the internal customers’ needs. Work closely with Maintenance to support repairs and projects. Maintain tooling. Participate in Preventative Maintenance work that involves dies, punches, and other precision-oriented tasks. Use problem solving skills to ensure stable operation of the machine shop. Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Production Supervisor. Work closely with support staff such as Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisor, Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues. Review drawings, pictures, and/or physical part and build/make part based on information provided. Prioritize work based on CMMS work orders and direct assignments. Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities. Handles any and all tasks required to support plant operations. Ability to interpret prints & make parts; heat treat/draw back material; use precision tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in tool and die shop operations required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • CNC programming experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
