About The Position

This position will be responsible for multiple tasks relating to trouble shooting, repair, fabrication, and preventive maintenance of all facility equipment. Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction. Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems. Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations. Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule. Complete appropriate paperwork and reports. Must comply with lockout/tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs. Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs. Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision. Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision. Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have 1 year of industrial maintenance or like experience.
  • Must have at least 6 months of continuous work history with the same employer within the last 12 months or attend technical school or training within the last 12 months.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to adhere to Tyson Foods' safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork.
