Caterpillar is seeking a 2nd Shift Logistics Production Manager, in North Little Rock, AR. In this role, you will guide a dedicated team working together to help build the products that help our customers build a better world! Inside the 725,000 square-foot air-conditioned facility you will work with logistics associates and support teams to complete the daily building requirements by ensuring the parts and materials arrive at the line when needed. You will use fresh approaches to problem-solving, and you will be on the front lines as we push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability to build a better tomorrow. What you can look forward to in this role: Foster a safe environment through education, awareness, and ownership. Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor, eliminating any unsafe operations and ensuring a safe and clean product environment. Communicate with team daily to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work assigned. Coach and develop your team while fostering a positive employee experience Drive root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement Execute logistics processes to receive, store, pick and deliver material on time to support production. Be responsible for initiatives within your assigned team to enable 6S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System)/ISO certification programs. Work in a fast-paced environment with the capability to direct and adjust as necessary Adapt and champion automation and technology improvements for the team Lead strategic assignments that drive process improvements and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Talent Management: Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.
  • Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.
  • Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
  • Production Training: Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP.
  • At least 2 years of logistics experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Strong customer focus and ability to influence and lead hourly direct reports.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
