About The Position

The Investigations Specialist (IS) is responsible for the detection, investigation, and documentation of unaccounted controlled substances and pharmaceuticals. The IS will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and adhere to all reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent required).
  • Degree not required but minimum of Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years' experience performing investigative and/or analytical type work.
  • Work experience and/or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to delegate and prioritize work.
  • Able to handle difficult client situations in a manner that maintains good business relations, both internal and external.
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office and Google suites; experience using basic office equipment.
  • Able to follow standard operating procedures and follow instructions.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations of unaccounted drugs.
  • Assimilate facts, photographs, and other evidence of potential diversion, and accurately organize materials.
  • Draw logical conclusions from the evidence.
  • Articulate findings in a well-written and professional manner that is appropriate for distribution to customers.
  • Internally communicate inventory shortages.
  • Participate in inventory audits and events.
  • Prepare well-written communications that are appropriate for distribution to customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Analyze drug discrepancies in order to track and identify trends for investigations.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve efficiencies and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to unaccounted controlled substances.
  • Utilize analysis tools to aggregate totals of drug discrepancies.
  • Evaluate operational processes that create vulnerabilities for potential diversion.
  • Identify new tracking methods to further identify threats to the drug distribution cycle.
