About The Position

Under the direction of the inspection supervisor or leadperson(s), this individual must be able to perform inspection procedures on a variety of bearing components and finished assemblies. This individual must be able to read complex drawings and perform inspection operations as required using measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, dial indicators, and direct reading instruments such as air gages, plug gages and torque and radial clearance gages and Rockwell hardness tester. This person must be able to select the appropriate inspection instrument, perform inspection operations according to a specified sampling plan and prepare necessary paperwork when parts fail to meet print specifications.

Requirements

• Ability to read complex drawings.
• Experience using measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and dial indicators.
• Knowledge of direct reading instruments such as air gages and plug gages.
• Ability to perform inspection operations according to a specified sampling plan.
• Attention to detail in preparing paperwork for parts that fail to meet specifications.

• Report any discrepancies to either the leadperson(s) or the supervisor.
• Keep the workplace clean.
• Move work being inspected within the area of the workplace.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by inspection supervision.
