About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the physical security of the facility, which includes assignments to walking or stationary posts, depending on the location. The role involves inspecting and controlling persons and vehicles entering or leaving the facility, logging truck traffic during ingress and egress, writing reports, performing preliminary investigations, operating the switchboard, and utilizing two-way radio communication and intercom equipment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalency.
• Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Ability to interact respectfully with all Team Members, including management.
• Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory and investigative skills are helpful but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Verify identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facility.
• Check all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etc.
• Write detailed investigative reports.
• Conduct initial investigations of accidents, thefts, workplace violence, and other incidents as needed.
• Rove or walk through the plant to monitor and ensure physical facility security.
• Log truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspect all motor vehicles driven into the plant.
