About The Position

The 2nd Shift Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate and efficient supply of materials and equipment being moved to and from specified areas, as specified by the warehouse guidelines. The shift runs from 3pm to 11pm. The operator will operate equipment including but not limited to a lift truck and tractor trailer in accordance with good safety practices. Responsibilities include keeping assigned equipment in good, clean, and safe condition, reporting any mechanical problems to the Warehouse Manager immediately, and removing product from Production and placing it in its proper space in the Warehouse. The operator will also re-arrange and/or stack away production from the preceding shift, if necessary, and perform all duties related to the Warehouse operation. Additional tasks include assisting Quality Assurance with sample collecting, managing paper counts, product coding, and any other necessary paperwork. The operator must be capable of doing inventory of supplies and setting orders, ensuring the work area is kept clean and orderly in accordance with good housekeeping practices, and following food safety, legality, and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities. Adherence to common safety practices and procedures is also required. Other duties may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Requirements

  • Forklift Operation experience - 1 year preferred.
  • Moderate to heavy physical exertion required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to record data on a spreadsheet.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance required.
  • Ability to read and understand documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to perform several tasks at once.
  • Ability to follow direction or instruction.

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities
