About The Position

This position involves operating a forklift safely and efficiently, adhering to all International Paper's safety rules, policies, and protocols. Key responsibilities include unloading inbound and outbound shipments, moving products to storage, and efficiently stacking merchandise. The role requires ensuring the accuracy and damage-free condition of shipments, reporting quality variances, and preparing orders for shipment. You will move products from staging/storage areas and production lines into trailers and/or storing/staging areas, and load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment. Maintaining the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, performing daily inspections and minor maintenance on equipment, and keeping accurate records for inventory control are also part of the job. You will assist in physical inventories, maintain a clean work area, and perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required. Additionally, you will complete forms, logs, inventory, and records accurately, and perform shipping and billing duties when the shipping lead is absent. Requirements

  • Be able to read and understand loading instructions.
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal assistance.
  • Provide daily feedback to the supervisor regarding all aspects of shift activity.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.) and be able to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications and division.
  • Previous forklift experience is required.
  • Must have the ability to learn and understand machine line up.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing setting of at least two years is preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience in handling material without the use of pallets is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Forklift in a safe and efficient manner following all IP’s safety rules, policies and protocols always.
  • Unloads inbound and outbound shipments safely and moves products to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stacks and stores the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
  • Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Reports quality variances.
  • Pulls and prepares orders for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
  • Efficiently moves product from staging/storage areas and production lines into trailers and/or storing/staging areas.
  • Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment.
  • Maintains the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Daily, inspects and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
  • Keeps appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Performs or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports (complete forms, logs, inventory and records accurately – as required).
  • Perform shipping and billing duties when shipping lead is absent.
  • Other duties as assigned by managers and/or supervisor/shift leader.
